Here's what we were working with - an older block wall running along the front beds that had seen better days. The wall had lost its shape over time, and the beds around it just looked rough. It's a pretty common situation. The border starts to go, and suddenly the whole front of the house feels neglected even when the rest of the property is well kept.
We pulled the old wall out completely and started fresh. New block went in along the entire front bed line, wrapping the corner with a clean curve that follows the natural layout of the house. That kind of detail matters. A sharp corner or a clunky transition can undo a lot of good work, so we took the time to get the radius right.
Once the new wall was set, the beds got cleaned up and topped with fresh dark mulch. The contrast between the new block, the black mulch, and the green plants really pulls everything together. The bed itself has a clean depth to it now - plants have room, there's no grass creeping in, and the whole front face of the house looks intentional.
This is the kind of landscaping work that makes a real difference in how a property reads from the street. It's not flashy. It's just solid - the right wall, properly installed, with the landscape work to match. That's what we do here in Batavia, OH.
