Sometimes a home just needs a reset. Not a full redesign - just someone to come in, cut back what's overgrown, clean up the edges, and lay down fresh mulch. It sounds simple, but the difference it makes to the front of a house is hard to overstate.
Here's what we were working with - beds that had gotten away from things. Shrubs pushing out past their borders, growth crowding the foundation, and that general "nobody's touched this in a while" look. It wasn't a disaster, but it was doing the home no favors from the curb.
We trimmed back the shrubs, cleaned out the beds, cut tight edges where the lawn meets the mulch, and topped everything with a fresh layer of dark mulch. That last part is what really pulls it together. Dark mulch frames the plants, makes the green pop, and instantly gives the beds a finished, intentional look.
What most homeowners don't realize is that bed maintenance like this also does practical work - keeping weeds down, holding moisture, and protecting plant roots. So it's not just about looks, though the looks alone are usually enough reason to get it done.
This is one of our favorite types of landscaping work because the results are immediate and obvious. Clean edges, trimmed plants, fresh mulch - it's one of the most cost-effective things you can do for your home's curb appeal, and it doesn't require tearing anything out and starting over.
